To optimize treatment outcomes, Tris-EDTA and a topical antimicrobial solution are administered just before the animal awakens, alongside a parenteral prednisolone dose.

It’s essential that systemic antibiotics are diligently employed, with treatment extended until the infection is entirely resolved—a minimum duration of four weeks. In cases of otitis media, treatment may extend uninterrupted for 8 to 12 weeks.
